The Konfidence Challenge

Bet on yourself for three weeks. Then teach your kid how.

One bet a day, and I’m doing every one of them with you. Week one is ours. Week two we hand it to our kids. Week three we all go do the thing we’ve been avoiding.

$247 after Sep 20. Doors close Sep 27.

From Raleigh

Nobody taught me confidence.

Not because my parents didn’t care. They just didn’t have the words for it, so they couldn’t hand it to me. I grew up seeing the highlight reel. When things went badly for me I assumed something was wrong with me.

So I spent a long time faking it, and then a longer time reading every book that promised to explain it.

Here’s what all those books were trying to say. Konfidence isn’t something you have. It’s something you do. It’s a bet you place on yourself, over and over, until you trust the guy placing it.

I’m still placing them. Some days it goes fine. Some days I chicken out and my kids see it. That’s the honest version.

So this fall I’m doing three weeks of it on purpose, out loud, with whoever wants to do it alongside me. And in week two we hand the whole thing to our kids. I won’t be talking to your kid. You will. Same as I’ll be talking to mine.

How it works

Konfidence is taking a bet on yourself. So we take one every day.

A BET is a Bold Enthusiastic Test. Small enough to do today. Scary enough that you’d normally talk yourself out of it.

Every weekday for three weeks there’s one. Same shape every time.

01
A story.
Usually one where I got it wrong first.
02
A principle.
The piece of the Konfidence Kode we’re working that day, and the science behind it.
03
A bet.
The one thing we go do before tomorrow.

By the end you’ll have 15 behind you. So will I. So will everyone else in the room.

Our kids watch the whole time. Then they get a turn.

The LESSON

Konfidence is a bank. Every bet is a deposit.

Konfidence isn’t a feeling you wait around for. It’s a balance you build. Every bet you take goes in the bank, and after fifteen of them you have proof you can’t argue with. Three pillars hold the bank up: courage, competence, compassion. And the whole thing sits on core values, the part most of us have never dug up. So that’s where we start.

The Konfidence Bank
The Konfidence Bank: courage, competence and compassion standing on core values
CV
Kore Values
The foundation. The bank sits on it, and most of us have never looked underneath. You do this one once: find the three things you actually stand for, so every deposit after this has somewhere to land.
Bet one. You dig yours up in week one. Your kid digs theirs up in week two.
C
Kourage
Pillar 1. Doing it scared. The deposit that feels like a withdrawal right up until you check the balance.
Week one, you do the thing you’ve been avoiding. Week two, they do theirs.
C
Kompetence
Pillar 2. Doing it badly first.
Week one, you do it badly in front of someone. Week two, so do they.
C
Kompassion
Pillar 3. What you say to yourself when it goes sideways, so one bad day doesn’t empty the account.
Week one, you change what you say after it goes wrong. Week two, you hand them the words.
By the end
You’ll know your core values. Written down, said out loud.
You’ll know the science of konfidence well enough to teach it. Because you will have it.
You’ll trust yourself more, because you’ll have 15 days of proof.
And your kid will have watched you do it, then done it with you.
How it runs

Us first. Then our kids. Then all of us, out in the world.

Week 01 · Sep 28 to Oct 2
You.

This week is about you and nobody else.

We kick off Monday night. Then five bets: 1 on your core values, and 1 each on courage, competence, and compassion. Small stuff you’ve been avoiding. The call you keep not making. The thing you’re bad at that you won’t do in front of anyone.

By Friday you’ll have done 4 things you didn’t want to do. Your kid will have noticed.

Week 02 · Oct 5 to 9
Your kid.

Same principles. Kid-sized bets. You run them, not me.

We start the week with the mentor mindset call, because the hard part this week isn’t your kid. It’s you not rescuing them. Then you do with them what you did for yourself: their values, their scary-small thing, the thing they’re bad at, the sentence they say when they mess up.

Bets are split for little homies (6 to 9) and middle homies (10 to 14).

Week 03 · Oct 12 to 16
Together.

Fewer worksheets. More world.

Five days of going out and doing the scary thing, side by side. You pick a family bet. You do it.  We get back on a call and everybody shares what happened.

This is the week they’ll remember.

Live with me

I’m not recording this and walking away.

This is the first time I’m running it, so I’m running it with you. A kickoff call and four more live calls across the three weeks.

Evenings, after bedtime, because I have kids too. Thirty to forty-five minutes, because so do you. All recorded.

Most of the call won’t be me talking at you. It’ll be you telling me how the bet went, what your kid said, where it fell apart, and the rest of us saying yeah, same.

I don’t know if I’ll do it this way again. First time through, I want to be in the room.

Guest sessions

A few people I’ve been learning from.

Most of what I know about this I got from books. A few of the people who wrote them said yes to a call with us. They’ll each take a weekend session, tell you how they think about confidence, and answer whatever you want to ask.

I’m not going to pretend I’m the expert here. That’s what they’re for.

Who I’m hoping shows up

Parents like me.

You’ve gotten quieter than you used to be, and you can feel your kid noticing.
You want them to have something you didn’t get, and you’re willing to go first, even if you’re not sure you can.
You can find twenty minutes a day for three weeks, and one evening a week for a call. That’s it. That’s the whole ask.
Your kid is somewhere between 6 and 14. Older works with different words. Younger, do weeks one and three for yourself and save week two for when they’re ready.

If you’re looking for someone to fix your kid, this isn’t it. I won’t even be talking to them. If you’d rather go at your own pace, the Kickstart is $27 and it’s good. No hard feelings either way.

The price

$147 if you join before the 21st. $247 after.

Early bird is open Sep 14 through the 20th. On the 21st it goes to $247 and stays there until doors close on the 27th. Then that’s it.

Why cheaper early? Honestly, because I want to know who’s in so I can plan the calls around real people instead of a number. And because deciding before you feel ready is kind of the whole thing we’re practicing.

Questions
Things you might be wondering.
How much time is this?
About twenty minutes a day on weekdays for the bet, plus one evening call a week. Guest sessions are optional and recorded.
What if I miss a call?
It’s recorded and in Circle. The bets don’t need the call. The call just makes them better.
How old does my kid need to be?
6 to 14. The whole challenge is built for that range. Bets are split for little homies (6 to 9) and middle homies (10 to 14), so you'll get the right words.
Do you talk to my kid?
No. You do. Week two gives you the words.
Refund?
No. Once you're in, you're in. It's a live cohort with a set start date, so I can't reopen a seat after the doors close.
Last thing

This time, we walk in beside our kids.

I didn’t get the words growing up. Nobody sat me down and said here’s how you trust yourself. I figured some of it out the slow way. I’m still figuring out the rest, which is why I’d rather do this live with a room full of parents than record it and disappear.

Three weeks. Fifteen bets. A bunch of us doing the same scary thing on the same day. Then we hand it to our kids.
